ARRIVAL AT YOUR VILLA
Accommodation is booked from 4pm on your arrival day to 10am on your departure day. Obviously it can take more than one hour to clean a villa on changeover days and should you arrive before 3 pm the maid may still be tidying up.
MAID SERVICE
Maid service is 5 days a week (unless stated otherwise) usually weekdays, excluding public holidays. The maids are not at the villas all day and their duties usually consist of light cleaning work. Linen is changed weekly unless stated otherwise.
EXTRA BEDS
In some of our villas we can allow an extra bed, usually for a child only. Where a villa is rented with an extra bed, for example 7 people in a 3 bedroom villa, it does not necessarily mean that the amenities of the villa will allow for the extra person.
POOLS
The pool sizes in our descriptions are approximate and for guidance only. As some of the pools are of an irregular shape the measurements have been taken at the longest and widest points.
SATELLLITE / TV's
Many of our villas have Satellite TVs. If you have a de-coder card you will need to bring it with you to view all the available channels. De-coder cards cannot be supplied locally. Without a de-coder card you currently can view Sky News, CNN, Channel 5, The Cartoon Channel, EuroSport, a variety of German channels and the sound from MTV. Most of the villas advertised with a Satellite TV will have a de-coder box but some don’t and some have older systems that do not receive all the available channels. TVs without Satellites just receive a couple of local channels, one of which usually shows films in English with Portuguese subtitles.
WASHING MACHINES
If there is a washing machine at the villa then it is there for your benefit. Sometimes however, the owners stipulate that the washing machines are for the maids use only. In these cases the maid will do the laundry on your behalf and a small charge may be made. If there is no washing machine at your villa the maid will occasionally do your personal laundry at a charge.
INVENTORY DEPOSITS
Should you cause any breakages at your villa you must either replace it or pay the equivalent amount. In some cases you may be asked for a damage deposit which will be held against breakages and refunded either at the end of your holiday or within two weeks of your return home.
DESCRIPTIONS
We try to be accurate at all times. It is impossible to give a full description of our villas within this brochure. All the accommodation featured has been visited by us and it is important that you not only read the individual descriptions but also speak to us to obtain a better picture of each villa and the surrounding area.
BUILDING WORK
Building & the resultant noise from sites adjacent to any of the villas, apartments or hotels featured in our brochure may occur at anytime. When we have notice prior to your departure we will advise you immediately and if necessary offer you alternative accommodation or if unable to offer you similar or superior accommodation will reduce the cost of the holiday (excluding insurance premiums). We cannot be held responsible for building work which commences after your arrival and of which neither we or our agents have prior knowledge or warning.

It is recommended that cars are normally collected from and returned to the airport. However, transfers can be arranged should you prefer the car to be delivered to your villa. More information...
GOLF
We suggest that if you are considering playing golf ath you pre-book the tee times before departure, to avoid difficulty in obtaining your preferred tee times. However we would point out that in low seasons, some courses may have special offers which are only available to clients booking directly when in resort.
PLEASE NOTE: Most airlines charge extra at check in for carriage of clubs. We suggest that you advise us when booking your flights if you intend taking clubs.
DRIVING IN PORTUGAL
As in most continental countries they drive on the right hand side and overtake on the left. An International driving licence is not necessary. Minimum driving age is 21 years. TICKETS & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Your tickets and travel documents will be posted to you approximately 10 days before your departure date.
PASSPORTS AND VISAS
British Citizens holding a full British Passport do not need a visa to enter Portugal. If in doubt as to whether you need a visa the telephone number of the Portuguese Consulate General is (0207) 581 8722. They can take up to 4 weeks or longer to issue a visa. Always tell them ifyou have a temporary passport and not a full one.
BEING ABROAD
It is important to remember that some services and facilities in The Algarve do not come up to the standards we have in the U.K. Water and electrical supplies can be erratic particularly during the peak months of July, August and September when it also can be difficult to arrange for repairmen to attend to problems immediately. Should anything go wrong at the villa please report it to our representatives as soon as possible. Portugal is no exception to many European countries when it comes to problems occurring with regards to ants, mosquitoes, barking dogs, and motorbikes being driven without silencers. Theft from tourists has been on the increase throughout the Mediterranean and Portugal in the past decade and our advice is not to take any valuables with you. A fairly common ailment local doctors treat is ear infections and a sensible precaution to help avoid this is to dry your ears out, especially those of children, when leaving the pool.
BANKING HOURS
Banks are open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 3pm. There are also exchange bureaus which have in the past offered better rates for travellers cheques. You can also use your credit card / debit cards to obtain cash.
ELECTRICITY
It is 220 AC with continental twin plugs.
TOURIST BOARD
